NOE original version (1971)

       In 1971 Costas Dourountzis and his best friend from the very beginning of his professional career Costas Koumpouras, were looking for a drummer to form a new band. Makis Palios joined them and that was the start of the “NOE” adventure.

NOE version 2 (1972-73)

        In the summer of 1972, Costas joins a band formed for a job, at the “Kalogria Beach Hotel” with Lakis Makrakis (bass), Vangelis Ninikas (organ) and Makis Palios (drums). There he meets Vangelis Zissis (drums) who use to play with a band on the ferry, from Patras to Ancona, Italy. Later Vangelis replaced Makis who joins the Greek army and there was the second version of “NOE” that started to become famous all over Greece.
        At that period the band goes through several changes, when Vangelis leaves for France and he’s been replaced by Andreas Mouzakis. There has been even a small period with a second guitarist named George “the Danish”.

NOE version 3 (1973)

       In 1973 Andreas Mouzakis leaves Greece for the USA. Costas and Lakis performe with Lakis Jordanelli on keyboards, on tour as a supporting band for Greek famous pop stars Paschalis & Elpida.
       Later Costas joins another friend, Christos Piliouris (keyboards) at the island of Syros, and together with Tolis Piperas (drums) and Costas Besdekis (bass), form the third version of “NOE”.

       Back in Athens in 1973-74, former bass player Costas Koumpouras, rejoins the band and they perform at the night-club “Elatirio” in Athens.
The band was playing there, during the events at the Athens Polytechnic School and the beginning of the end, of the military dictature.

NOE version 5 (1975)

Lambros Tselentis: bass

Vangelis Zissis: drums

       Vangelis Zissis came back from France and in winter ’74 “NOE” is Costas, Vangelis and two new members. Lambros Tselentis (bass) and a great piano player Costas Michaelides. Together they recorded the single “Ilios Anatellei” and “Kathomai Pali Apopse” on the Philips – Phonogram label (1975).

NOE version 6 in Paris, France (1976 - 1980)

Vangelis Zissis: drums

       Vangelis persuaded Costas to continue the “NOE” adventure in Paris, so they moved together to France, on september 1975.
In Paris they meet Takis Mitsis (keyboards) and later with the arrival from Greece of Costas Michaelides, they formed the last version of “NOE” until the end of 1980.
       Actually Vangelis Zissis lives in Athens and runs a recording studio. Costas Michaelides played with lots of famous Greek artists like Marinella, Giannis Parios and many others and he is a Conservatory of Music director and teacher in Athens.
